I love to see creative expressions of birth and birth experiences. This week there were several: Birth Activist (and others) linked to a fine animation of birth from a hospital midwife’s point of view called Mother of Many. Two poems also appeared this week, one from Lisa on The MotherHood Blog called “It’s the Human Race That’s Failing to Progress, Not Me!” and another from villagemidwife called “the womb.”
Several other posts are well worth reading this week, including Birth Sense‘s post on humanizing cesarean birth and Henci Goer’s update on the un-safety of Cytotec on Science and Sensibility. Also, a new blog from Birthtalk.org called The Truth About Traumatic Birth was launched this week with several good posts, like this critique of myths regarding traumatic birth. And, in case you haven’t heard about the rally for Dr. Biter (aka Dr. Wonderful) in San Diego, read this post by Dou-la-la all about just how wonderful this OB is. VBAC Facts has also been posting updates on Dr. Biter’s case.
