Please introduce yourself to ICAN:
I am married with two daughters, 3 and 5. We own a restaurant and I do all the administrative/accounting work from home for it while my husband runs it there day to day. I have a BA in Communications from the University of South Florida. I love to read and would do it all day if I could! I am a huge Buffalo Bills fan and I enjoy attending concerts.
What led you to join ICAN?
The woman who encapsulated my placenta after my cesarean knew what a hard time I was having and referred me to our local chapter one day after my daughter was born. I went to the very next meeting.
How do you share ICAN as an organization with others?
Mainly that it exists and that we should not be considered controversial in any way. There is nothing controversial about education, advocacy, and support.
Where will you be serving families through ICAN?
ICAN of Tallahassee – we serve the Florida panhandle. The largest OB practice in our city has a VBAC ban. They are the most well-known practice here and I think this sends a bad message.
