ICAN is excited to announce Eva Street as our newest Chapter Leader!
“All women should have access to support, resources, and choice of providers to be able to make the best decisions for their births.” – Eva Street, ICAN of Hagerstown and Frederick
Please tell us about yourself.
I was born in Slovakia. I moved to the USA when I met my husband about 10 years ago. We live in Frederick, MD. We have two children. My first birth was a cesarean, my second was a VBAC. I am also a doula. Besides birth, I am passionate about animals. I have two Labrador retrievers and I volunteer with a local Labrador rescue. I have a law degree from that I obtained in Slovakia. I also have a paralegal certificate.
What do you wish other people knew about ICAN?
ICAN is a group of dedicated people who truly care about healthy families, birth and women. ICAN is also mothers who help each other and support each other wherever they are in their birth journeys.
If you could change one thing about the birth climate in your area, what would it be?
We need more VBAC friendly hospital-based providers.
What area does your chapter serve?
Frederick, MD. We serve Frederick and the surrounding counties.
When does your chapter meet?
We have meetings every second Monday at 6:30 PM at the Common Market in Frederick, MD.
Congratulations, Eva!
