ICAN is excited to announce our newest Chapter Leader!

“I believe every birthing person should have access to accurate information and support and be able to explore birth choices.” – Liza Mordkovich, ICAN of Manhattan

How did you find out about ICAN?

I contacted ICAN when I was going for a VBAC.

Please tell us a little about yourself.

I’m a social worker practicing in NYC. I provide therapeutic services in perinatal services and am passionate about helping women/birthing persons overcome trauma, anxiety and PMAD. I’m a mom of two kids living in Brooklyn, foodie, artist, nature lover.

If you could change one thing about the birth climate in your area, what would it be?

More evidence based care and research, and less outdated hospital policy and fear tactics.

What is the best thing about the birth climate in your area?

The birth professionals I have known and met and worked with!

Congratulations, Liza!
