Christie says, “After my cesarean, I found ICAN and the support and wisdom I gained from the women in this organization helped me come to peace with what happened at the birth of my first son. Then I found Special Scars~Special Womwn. I found women who had similar scars to me, unusual cesarean scars. And they had gone on to have successful VBACs. This gave me so much hope and strength and lifted my up. I joined this group and volunteered to help out. I was able to have my own HBAC after a + cesarean scar in April 2012.
The Improving Birth rally was a great opportunity to get this message out and to speak the truth about BIRTH. The fact that VBAC is possible and it’s important to let our community and expecting Moms to know that they can succeed.”
