Chapter Leader of Color Grant
We are excited to announce that ICAN has begun taking donations to directly fund a grant for Chapter Leaders of Color! In an effort to grow in inclusiveness and diversity, this Chapter Leader of Color Grant will help partially or fully cover the Chapter Leader Fee of potential leaders of color as donated funds are available.
Physician Cesarean Rates Database from Amino
ICAN has partnered with Amino to bring you one key data point in how you choose your pregnancy doctor. Amino has used its database of 9 billion health insurance claims to calculate the C-section rate for tens of thousands of doctors across the country – one key data point in empowering women to deliver their babies with confidence.
Their data does not reflect Medicaid patients, but it is a good starting point for all women to understand how frequently a doctor will perform C-sections generally and how that may impact them. It may be worthwhile to ask your doctor for their Medicaid data.
Please understand that this is one piece of a big puzzle, and should be used accordingly.
Note that you can pull up doctors affiliated with a specific hospital, and you get to see Hospital Safety Scores, too.
