ICAN is excited to announce Chelsea Boothe as our newest Chapter Leader!
“A cesarean can affect you far longer than just the day you give birth. Many women are good candidates for VBAC and should have that as a safe birthing option.” – Chelsea Boothe, ICAN of Birmingham
Please tell us a little about yourself!
I am a wife and mother of 4. I have a Bachelors in Business Administration. The ongoing joke in my house is that my hobby is learning new hobbies.
How did you find out about ICAN?
I found ICAN of Birmingham the last week of my last pregnancy. I was looking for support and information about doctors in the area that were VBAC supportive. I ended up going to the two doctors that were recommended. I wish I would have found my chapter sooner.
What is the best thing about the birth climate in your area?
We are changing, people are seeing that the country is improving and we have been stagnant and we are working on moving forward.
What is one thing you wish were different about the birth climate in your area?
I wish we had more midwives!
When is your next meeting?
Tonight, February 5 at the Retreat Day Spa in Irondale, AL at 7:00pm. We will have a guest speaker on breastfeeding after a Cesarean.
Is there anything else you would like to add?
I am very excited!
Congratulations, Chelsea!
