Erin Powers
Erin found ICAN after her daughter was born via an unexpected cesarean. She later had a VBAC as a gestational surrogate. Erin lives with her husband and daughter in central Illinois and works as a structural engineer when she isn’t working to further ICAN’s mission.
Cassia Beckman
ICAN has been a major part of Cassia’s life for the past 17 years. She connected with her local chapter when she moved cross-country and struggled to find support for a 2nd VBAC. She thought she was coming just for provider ideas but instead found a wealth of support, encouragement, and information.
Cassia has a passion for the importance of informed consent and want to help others access the information they need to make the best choices for themselves. She firmly believes that there is no one right way or right set of choices for birth and have appreciated the depth of stories she has been able to witness through our group.
Cassia has served as an ICAN of Atlanta chapter leader since 2018 and an ICAN board member since 2023.
