Accreta and Maternal Blood Loss Awareness Blood Drives

The International Cesarean Awareness Network is excited to be participating in blood drives hosted by ICAN and various blood suppliers across the United States. The purpose of the blood drive is to raise awareness about maternal blood loss and placenta accreta, which is also a risk of repeat cesarean in which mothers require emergency blood transfusions. Blood drives are held at various times during the year with peak times being April – highlighting Cesarean Awareness Month and October – highlighting Accreta Awareness Month.
