Labor lasted 24hrs and c-section after 2.5 hrs of pushing and baby not descending. The second was a c-section at 36 weeks

With my third pregnancy I was admitted at 36 weeks contracting and running a fever. Ob was sure I would deliver within 48 hrs to 10 days but Jaszer had a different plan. I had been walking for days on in and was dilated to a 2-3 and 50% effaced. That stayed that way until my induction day, I finally begged to be induced at 38.3 because for 2 weeks I could not walk and did not want to go overdue with my school starting back just in case I ended up in the OR with a c-section!

Finally Dr. D agreed at 39.3. We got to the hospital at 12:30 am they checked me still a 3 and hooked me up to pitocin. A few minutes later they came in with ultrasound and we discovered in the last day he had turned completely transverse! I was devastated! My nurse who I know personally, tried to be optimistic and called my OB at 1:30 and he said turn it all off I will be there in the morning. The other nurse who did the sonogram was not so optimistic and told me I might as well go home Dr. D would never try and turn him and she was shocked he was even letting me try a VBAC. Then said I might as well have a c-section because I would never have this baby.

In the meantime I did lots of praying and standing on my head basically to try and encourage baby to turn. So, at 7 sonogram came in again and he was still transverse. Then anesthesia came in and insisted I have a light epidural Dr D was going to try and turn him as soon as he got out of surgery, so 8 am I got that and Dr. D was tied up until 1:30. By now my drugs have worn off. Dr D did the next sonogram and baby had turned head down and I had started contracting on my own! He checked me I was dilated to a 5 so he broke my water and by 3:30 I was fully dilated. He had me labor down for 1 hour until he made it back to the hospital and we started pushing. My contractions had slowed to every 4-5 min so I pushed for 30 min and we had a baby boy!

He weighed 8 lbs 6 oz and was 22 inches long. I had very light dose of anesthesia right before delivery when contractions were 2 min apart to help ease the pain, but I was able to move my legs the entire time making it so much easier to push. I was up walking an hour after he was born.

The evening primrose oil, I feel, really helped.
