Melinda Kane
founded ICAN of the Capital District in 2008 after receiving immeasurable online support from ICAN’s email lists while planning a VBAC. She has served as leader and co-leader since that time. She has a son born by cesarean section and a daughter born at home. In addition to facilitating ICAN’s activities, she is a birth doula and nursing student.
Amanda Mody
joined ICAN of the Capital District’s leadership in 2012. She is the mother of three boys, two born by cesarean section and one born vaginally in a VBA2C. In addition to her work with ICAN, Amanda is a birth doula and Reiki practitioner.
Bronwyn Fackrell
became a co-leader in 2017. She has five children, the third of which was born by classical c-section. The other four were born vaginally, one at home. In addition to ICAN, she serves on the board of Special Scars, an organization for women with scars other than the most common low transverse c-section scar.
