ICAN of Huntsville
is a chapter of the International Cesarean Awareness Network, Inc. (ICAN). Our mission is to improve maternal child health by reducing preventable cesareans, supporting cesarean recovery, and advocating for vaginal birth after cesarean (VBAC). Through donations from the community, we have awarded over 20 grants for parents-in-need to access doula care. We’ve offered education, support, and advocacy in the Tennessee Valley for almost 10 years, and 40 years in the U.S. and Internationally. Our monthly support groups help community members process their trauma while planning for future births, or recovering from a recent birth.
